Friday I met (via phone) a wonderful lady at Mark's Finest Papers where I had just ordered an adorable stamp set called 'Broom Rides'. She told me about a weekly drawing. This is the card I made for the drawing. This weeks challenge is to use stripes. I used a striped background paper layered over vanilla and onto a burgundy card, then used markers directly on the stamps to color the images. This is matted on black card stock. The cat draped over the pumpkin was stamped in permanent black ink on orange card stock, shaded with ink and water brush, and highlighted with white gel pen over which I used a yellow Spica pen to reduce the brightness of the white and add a tiny sparkle. After cutting out the image, I then wet the back side and rubbed with the rounded end of a bone folder to 'puff' it out. It has a 1/4 inch pop dot under the center and three very thin ones on the sides and top to hold it securely to the card.

Here is another card for Mark's Finest Papers drawing. This uses stamps from the same set... Broom Rides.
The owl and branch are from two different Stampin' Up! punches. The striped paper is Imaginisce purchased at a local papercraft store.

Hearts in Touch - Peacock
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!I wish you all a healthy, happy and prosperous 2010.
I made this card in 2008 using one of the beautiful images from Hearts in Touch Peacock rubber stamp sheet and was colored with chalks. The background was made using the paper that caught the overspray from another project.

I went to a class a few weeks ago and made a green ornament like this which I gave my Mom for Christmas. She loves it - looks Victorian with the tassel she said! DH wanted me to keep this red one!Sorry I couldn't keep the tassel straight on the scanner. This has 9 layers including the foam core.
This one was made with (hope I don't forget anything!):
Foam core board, stamp by Outlines, silver EP, patterned paper,
PVA, stickles glitter glue, Smooch paint, crystals, thin wire, tape,
hanging loop and tassel.

Here is a card I made for a sketch challenge. What is a sketch challenge? You are challenged to create a card using a specific layout and/or design element.
The decorative paper and frog stamp used here are from Lasting Impressions With Panache - www.lasimppan.com. I'm a member of their creative crew. Go check it out... not only do they carry a lot of great products, the creative crew section has some great eye candy too.

Here's a card I made while visiting my Mom last fall. I used dye inks and a waterbrush to watercolor the image and added glitter glue on some of the flowers to add a bit of sparkle.
There are a few more cards I made that day which I'll eventually post but I think this was my favorite!
